Parent Update

Communication with the School
Parents are requested to communicate directly with the administration should they have questions or concerns about any aspect of their child's school life.

Parent-Teacher Relations
SABIS® and ISC - Egypt have a different approach from most other educational institutions when it comes to parent-teacher relations. In the event that parents have a concern or a problem, or seek information about their child, they meet with their Academic Quality Controller (AQC) instead of meeting their child's teachers.

The AQC has a comprehensive picture of the child's academic and non-academic status, both past and current, and is thus qualified to deal with any concern, question, or problem that parents may have. After discussion, any measures agreed upon are passed to the teachers or other persons concerned. Should problems be more complex, further investigation will be carried out and the results conveyed to the parents as soon as possible. Parents may request meeting the School Director or Regional Director as needed.

Progress Reports
Information concerning a student's progress and development is available at all times and conveyed in three main ways:
  • WebParent
  • Simple Progress Report
  • AQC Meeting and Teacher Report

Web Parent
  • Offers a summary of all test and exam results, attendance, and disciplinary actions
  • Is available over the Internet
  • Provides secure and personalized access

Simple Progress Report
  • Offers a summary of all Periodic & AMS results to date, along with attendance and disciplinary records
  • May be requested at any time from the Academic Quality Controller
  • Is given to the student to take home within 24 hours
  • May be requested and received via e-mail

AQC Meeting and Teacher Report
  • Compiled from all teachers on all aspects of the student's attendance, performance, attitude, and behavior in class.
  • Calls for appointment with Academic Quality Controller
  • Requires three working days' notice
  • Requires a lengthy discussion of the individual reports
  • Outlines recommendations to be passed to students/ teachers/supervisors as decided
Appointments with the appropriate Academic Quality Controller may be made through the Reception.

The Director
Meetings with the Director are available upon request. Parents should contact the School Secretary to make an appointment.

End-of-Term Reports
Parents receive three reports a year; one at the end of each term. The reports are an in-depth record of their child's academic performance and extracurricular activities over the term. The final end-of-year report summarizes performance over the entire year, including important information related to promotion to the next grade.
