The International Schools of Choueifat, “Archeological Dig”

Students from both International Schools of Choueifat in Egypt: Cairo and City of 6th of October were invited to join an Archeological Dig under the sponsorship of the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis, USA, which is one of the largest children’s museums in the world. This museum has been advising in the design of the new Suzanne Mubarak Children's Museum in Heliopolis which is now under construction.

Choueifat Cairo Peacekeepers

This year in KG 1 through Grade 3 all students took part in the peacekeeper activity. Peacekeepers is a program designed to help with character development and prevent violence in school. It is built on six principles and students took part in classrooms activities to learn about these.

Middle School Social Studies Projects: Term 3

Probably the activity that has given rise to the greatest show of talent and enthusiasm from the students has been the Social Studies project assignment, across the four year-groups. We worked individually or in groups to make some marvellous posters and 3-D models, on subjects related to the work studied in class. We then gave presentations to the class. Some of the subjects chosen were:

Primary School Musical

The Wizard of Oz Early June saw the presentation of the musical The Wizard of Oz performed by students in grades 2, 3 and 4 and directed by Mr. Jack Tomlinson and Ms Mary Saydein.

ISC – Cairo Celebrates 15 Years!!!

On the 8th of May, The International School of Choueifat – Cairo celebrated 15 years in the eternal city of Cairo.

History

Founded in 1995, ISC-Cairo is located in the fast developing area of Katameya, New Maadi, Cairo. In its first year of operation, ISC-Cairo had a student enrollment of 290 students, a number which reached 1,663 in academic year 2008-09.

ISC City of 6 October, founded in 2003, is located in another fast developing area, Dreamland City of 6 October. ISC - City of 6 October had a student enrollment of 104 students in 2003-2004, a number which reached 940 in academic year 2008-09.

Together, ISC-Egypt schools serve approximately 2600 students in academic year 2008-2009 with a faculty of about 180.
